10 & 11 months

Is my little miss really 11 months old?!?! Where did my baby go? I know everyone says it goes fast and I felt like I have really made an effort to live in the moment with her, but my baby is almost one! What is the world coming too!!!

I find myself getting SO emotional thinking about her first birthday, I am going to be a wreck on the day! Luckily Auntie Nanyn is flying over from America to celebrate with us so I am sure she will carry me through the day! Now i am spending the next month prepping for Kynley's 1st birthday party! Princess themed of course :) There is nothing I love more than party planning...well maybe photography, but put them together and I am a happy lady! I am taking advantage of my sister coming and doing a lot of online shopping in America for her to bring over. Including lots of candy, not for Kynley, for me of course :) I cant wait to feed Kynley her first bit of cake, I am sure she will go crazy over it!

Anyways, here are some fun Kynley facts for you.....

-Our little princess waited until after Christmas until, she started crawling! My biggest fear was having her put herself in dangerous situations while we were away for christmas but she held off until my birthday! Now she is everywhere and into everything but she seems much more content now that she can get to where she wants to be!
-She had her first real illness last week. Took her to the dr because she kept pulling on her ears and turns out she had a viral infection :( She is on antibiotics and seems happier, although I had no idea she was sick in the first place, she didnt act any differently. I am assuming she has a very high pain tolerance.
-Speaking of high pain tolerance, she gets teeth and we dont even know it! we will just look in her mouth and there is a few popping up and we will think back and say "oh maybe thats why is has been a bit off" but nothing like the teething horror stories I have heard. As of now she has two bottom teeth two "fangs" (she is going through a twilight phase ;)) and one top tooth coming through.
-Dad is still her most favorite person in the world. I mean she loves me, but if she has a choice she chooses dad every time! He is always teaching her new funny things and she copies him so well!
-She has started making some really funny faces, especially when she is in trouble. If i tell her to stop something she will turn to me with her squished up little nose and snort at me. It is one of my most favorite things. I can tell this girl will have ATTITUDE!
-She decided back in the beginning of december that she no longer wanted to be fed by mom and dad, she only wanted to feed herself. The last month I have been going crazy trying to think of different healthy finger foods for her. Any mommies have any suggestions feel free to let me know :)
-Last is that she is just a happy baby. I know I have probably said it before and it is sort of obvious from all of the photo's I post, but she really is truly happy, most of the time. Dont get me wrong, girlfriend has some melt downs, but for the most part she is smiley and super cheeky. I love that little munchkin but more than anything :)

It's kind of bitter sweet, next month will be my last monthly growing post I do of her. I will still do updates just not as often. I just love being able to look back at these and remember all of the fun little things about our girl.

The moment I was warned about....

Since becoming a mother, lots of experienced mom's have given me advise and told me of things to be aware of, or look forward to, or dread. One of those things has been crawling. Once they're on the move...apparently all hell breaks loose!

Lucky for us, Kynley held off really crawling until a couple of days ago. And of course since we have come back home from our U.S. trip, she has been flying around the house like a wild banshee exploring everything. I was ok with it, thought I was keeping a good eye on her, until today.....

I was sitting at my computer in our main living area Skyping my sister, while Kynley was crawling on the floor around my feet. Shanyn and I were discussing her first birthday party when I notice things were very quiet. I turned around to find my child stuffing wet cat food into her mouth as fast as she could! In total horror I whipped around, grabbed her off of the floor (scaring her half to death), cat food went flying everywhere. I started frantically trying to get the cat food out of her mouth in between fits of laughter. It was apparent to me that was she actually enjoying the cat food and was not happy I was doing this to her. *barf* Tex ran in and helped me clean her off. We fed her some water and banana to hopefully help her get the taste out of her mouth (not that she was upset about it), and she went on being her happy little self, seemingly unscathed by the whole thing, while I sit here scared for life!

So yes. I have learned my lesson. Yes, my child ate cat food. This was that mommy moment I was warned about. Well, one of them at least. Hopefully I have learned enough from this one so I don't have to go through another (yea right).

Hopefully all of you other mommies enjoy this story, as I know you all have similar ones to it. And for those of you with out children, just beware, it could happen to you too ;)
