Toddlers...

When you make the decision to add a baby to your life, you know you are in for a big change. It's hard, but amazing, and somehow after a little while of having this sweet little thing, your crazy mommy brain tells you that you need another baby. For me this happend when Kynley was 9 months old, super cute, sleeping though the night, not moving...she was literally the easiest baby ever. So we decide, hey, while things are easy, let's add a second baby to the mix so Kynley has a best friend. Well, after we found out we were expecting our 2nd little one, Kynley decided to become a toddler...on the move...tantrums...we never wanted to take her out in public...ever. Once she hit about 20 months, she reverted (somewhat) back to that sweet little girl we originally had. But that phase (about 14-20 months) in her life was probably the hardest so far. WAY harder than a newborn that's for sure. As she was going through it I kept saying "why did no one warn me about this! " I was warned about newborn, terrible twos/three's and the teenage years, but not that little gap before their brains catch up with their legs. My mom likes to call it the "walking with out a brain" phase.

After Kyler was born, I literally have been dreading this age. And lucky for us, it took her awhile to get there, but she just got there this last week. She is fully walking now and is full of attitude.

The point of this post stemmed from our trip to target today. I have been taking the girls shopping with me since we moved back to the US. As long as I had snacks, I could usually survive a shopping trip sans a huge melt down. Well now that Kyler is walking, we're back to, in my opinion, the worst toddler phase ever. Today we woke up to having no power in our house after a huge storm, so I decided to get the girls out to target and grab lunch. I made the rookie mistake of taking Kyler out of our shopping cart to try a pair of shoes on her, and when I tried to put her back in *que massive toddler meltdown*. She lost it. Screaming, kicking, throwing things out of my cart! The whole store could hear her. She was literally rolling around exorcist style on the bottom of my cart getting snot and saliva all over everything. If this happened when Kynley was her age, I probably would have just picked her up and left, but second baby, it is what it is. Walking though target with everyone staring at me, while I ignored my tantruming toddler in the cart. Whatever, they have the best deal on diapers right now, and I couldn't leave without them! (Seriously, buy two boxes of huggies and get a $20 gift card...I love target). But, I have learned to grin and bare it and just keep moving. She eventually got over it and I was able to finish my shopping, well most of it. We all left the store mostly ok, except for the shoes I got her, which were covered in snot. #momlife

I wish I had a picture to show you guys, because it was a pretty epic tantrum, but I was worried if anyone saw me taking a photo, I might be judged more than I was  being already!

Next up on the agenda is visiting Santa, I am already expecting a good story to come from this. All Kynley talks about is how she "wants to cuddle my santa", ill keep ya posted 😘

Tis the season...

I

We are finally moved into our new house and just in time for all of the holiday festivities! I have had way too much fun buying Christmas decorations and making it feel cozy. We had a great Thanksgiving spent at my Aunt Carols house. Anyone who has had my thanksgiving knows about the stuffing, and she is where I got my recipe from! I have missed Thanksgiving back here for 6 years, and this one definitely lived up to my expectations...and the stuffing...OMG! Needless to say I was stuffed after and felt like I was going to die from being too full.

The next day all of my sisters were in town and we went to pick out our Christmas tree. We always do it the day after thanksgiving, so it was great to get to do that tradition again, and this year get our own tree! Kynley and Kyler (who now is fully walking) had the best time running around the tree lot and playing with their Aunties. Tree's are the best places to hide and go seek! Kyler talked papa into buying her some reindeer made out of all logs...and when I saw talked him into it, I mean just stared at it for awhile and he decided she needed it. She has him wrapped around her little finger thats for sure!  We got a 7.5 foot tree which fits perfectly in our new living room with our high ceilings. I got to open a box of christmas ornaments that I have had since I was a kid to put on our tree. So many fun memories. The girls LOVED assisting decorate the tree, and although they weren't super helpful, we got it mostly together.

The next day we celebrated my older sisters 30th birthday! I am actually flying to Denver this weekend to have another celebration with her, which will be a much needed break for this mommy ;)

Happy Holidays!

Halloween 2015

Halloween has come and gone and it was every bit as amazing I had hoped. Kynley really got into the halloween spirit. It's so much fun to get to see her enjoying new things. The lead up to halloween was great, every night she read a book about pumpkins, she loved the halloween store and all of the spiders and monsters everywhere. She literally talked about something halloween all day every day! Kyler was really only into for the candy ;)

We did a few fun things in the week leading up to halloween so the girls got to dress up. Kynley loves getting to put on a new costume every day, Kyler, not so much. I have planned out what we were going to be this year for halloween since I saw the idea last year. It gave me a long time to get Kynley excited about being a witch! And by the time halloween rolled around she was soon excited. "Mummy, me witch? You witch? Kyky witch? Daddy Witch?" We were supper lucky that both of my sisters who live away came home for halloween to watch my two crazies trick or treat! Just in case you don't recognize our costumes, we went as the witch from the movie Hocus Pocus and Tex was the Zombie, Billy Butcherson!

Naturally the day of halloween we put her down for her afternoon nap and when she woke up she was GRUMPY!!!! Like didn't want to wear her costume, all she wanted was "lay Papa's bed watch bubble guppies!!!!" After lots of bribing from Dad we eventually got her dressed and out the door. Seattle was nice enough to initiate us into our first halloween here with constant rain. It literally rained the whole time we trick or treated. Kynley kept yelling "ONE MORE HOUSE!" which in her words means 20 more houses, and she jumped in every puddle she could find. Poor Kyky was not so excited about it all. Dad had to carry her the whole way while she ran a low grade fever from teething (don't worry we kept her dry and warm).

We ended the night by putting the girls to bed and then heading out to Seattle with my sisters for some grown up fun (I'm too old for this kinda thing and really paid for it the next day). All in all it was a great Holiday! Kynley is still having a hard time understanding that halloween is over and that its time to get excited about a new thing. Last night she woke up at 3:45am and said to me
"Mummy we go to halloween Party?
Me "No bug halloween is over but its time to go to sleep"
"Mummy there ghosts at halloween party?"
"No Halloween is over, no more ghosts"
"Otay......Mummy there a ghost behind my bed!"
UMMMM WHAT?! It freaked me out a little but I just tucked her back in and hoped she fell back asleep, even thought I couldn't!

Last thing...the other night I was putting her to bed and i felt something crawling on my foot. I looked down and there was a spider on me. Naturally I freaked the f*@# out and started screaming. It scared the crap out of her, so I tried to calm her by saying "Don't worry a spider just tickled my foot and I was laughing" LIE    Now out of no where she will ask me or tell people "Mummy a pider tickle yo poot?" (a spider tickle your foot) It's kinda adorable.

Oh yea, we finally have a home ;) It's only temporary while we figure out where we will buy and settle, but at least its a home for the next year! 5 mins away from my parents (they are so excited) and a perfect space for us. Huge guest room for any Aussies who want to come and visit ;) More on this later.

Happy November everyone! 51 days until christmas...but who's counting!
