Toddlers...

When you make the decision to add a baby to your life, you know you are in for a big change. It's hard, but amazing, and somehow after a little while of having this sweet little thing, your crazy mommy brain tells you that you need another baby. For me this happend when Kynley was 9 months old, super cute, sleeping though the night, not moving...she was literally the easiest baby ever. So we decide, hey, while things are easy, let's add a second baby to the mix so Kynley has a best friend. Well, after we found out we were expecting our 2nd little one, Kynley decided to become a toddler...on the move...tantrums...we never wanted to take her out in public...ever. Once she hit about 20 months, she reverted (somewhat) back to that sweet little girl we originally had. But that phase (about 14-20 months) in her life was probably the hardest so far. WAY harder than a newborn that's for sure. As she was going through it I kept saying "why did no one warn me about this! " I was warned about newborn, terrible twos/three's and the teenage years, but not that little gap before their brains catch up with their legs. My mom likes to call it the "walking with out a brain" phase.

After Kyler was born, I literally have been dreading this age. And lucky for us, it took her awhile to get there, but she just got there this last week. She is fully walking now and is full of attitude.

The point of this post stemmed from our trip to target today. I have been taking the girls shopping with me since we moved back to the US. As long as I had snacks, I could usually survive a shopping trip sans a huge melt down. Well now that Kyler is walking, we're back to, in my opinion, the worst toddler phase ever. Today we woke up to having no power in our house after a huge storm, so I decided to get the girls out to target and grab lunch. I made the rookie mistake of taking Kyler out of our shopping cart to try a pair of shoes on her, and when I tried to put her back in *que massive toddler meltdown*. She lost it. Screaming, kicking, throwing things out of my cart! The whole store could hear her. She was literally rolling around exorcist style on the bottom of my cart getting snot and saliva all over everything. If this happened when Kynley was her age, I probably would have just picked her up and left, but second baby, it is what it is. Walking though target with everyone staring at me, while I ignored my tantruming toddler in the cart. Whatever, they have the best deal on diapers right now, and I couldn't leave without them! (Seriously, buy two boxes of huggies and get a $20 gift card...I love target). But, I have learned to grin and bare it and just keep moving. She eventually got over it and I was able to finish my shopping, well most of it. We all left the store mostly ok, except for the shoes I got her, which were covered in snot. #momlife

I wish I had a picture to show you guys, because it was a pretty epic tantrum, but I was worried if anyone saw me taking a photo, I might be judged more than I was  being already!

Next up on the agenda is visiting Santa, I am already expecting a good story to come from this. All Kynley talks about is how she "wants to cuddle my santa", ill keep ya posted 😘

Tis the season...

I

We are finally moved into our new house and just in time for all of the holiday festivities! I have had way too much fun buying Christmas decorations and making it feel cozy. We had a great Thanksgiving spent at my Aunt Carols house. Anyone who has had my thanksgiving knows about the stuffing, and she is where I got my recipe from! I have missed Thanksgiving back here for 6 years, and this one definitely lived up to my expectations...and the stuffing...OMG! Needless to say I was stuffed after and felt like I was going to die from being too full.

The next day all of my sisters were in town and we went to pick out our Christmas tree. We always do it the day after thanksgiving, so it was great to get to do that tradition again, and this year get our own tree! Kynley and Kyler (who now is fully walking) had the best time running around the tree lot and playing with their Aunties. Tree's are the best places to hide and go seek! Kyler talked papa into buying her some reindeer made out of all logs...and when I saw talked him into it, I mean just stared at it for awhile and he decided she needed it. She has him wrapped around her little finger thats for sure!  We got a 7.5 foot tree which fits perfectly in our new living room with our high ceilings. I got to open a box of christmas ornaments that I have had since I was a kid to put on our tree. So many fun memories. The girls LOVED assisting decorate the tree, and although they weren't super helpful, we got it mostly together.

The next day we celebrated my older sisters 30th birthday! I am actually flying to Denver this weekend to have another celebration with her, which will be a much needed break for this mommy ;)

Happy Holidays!
